Midvaal invests over R900 000 to transform local parks
Midvaal Municipality has taken a significant step towards enhancing recreational spaces, investing over R900 000 in upgrades to local parks.
The initiative aims to promote outdoor activities and foster healthier, more active lifestyles for residents. Among the upgraded spaces is the Oval Park in Henley on Klip, now equipped with state-of-the-art outdoor gym facilities, a children’s play area, and a half-sized basketball court.
Additionally, Rothdene Park received new play equipment specifically designed for children. These enhancements are part of the municipality’s broader vision to provide safe, enjoyable public spaces.
Plans for further upgrades, including irrigation systems and fencing, are already underway, subject to budget availability.
During the unveiling, Executive Mayor Peter Teixeira emphasised the community’s role in preserving these spaces, ensuring they remain clean and welcoming. “This project underscores our commitment to improving the quality of life for all Midvaal residents,” said Teixeira.
Midvaal remains dedicated to investing in such initiatives, reflecting its mission to create accessible, family-friendly recreational facilities across the region.
