Provincial Operation Vala Umgodi yielded positive results in De Deur

Operation Vala Umgodi was activated in De Deur SAPS policing precincts. The order of the day commenced with a prayer at the parade that was held at Spar in Walkerville.

During the parade, a Code of Conduct was indelibly read to the members and the stakeholders to reflectively spectate and abide by the code of conduct. The primary objective of this operation was to address and curb any criminality and lawlessness in De Deur policing precincts and to ensure public safety and security.

Colonel Dube of Sedibeng District office addressed the parade, where he emphasized how members should conduct themselves and look out for one another. Colonel Dube further emphasized the importance of acting swiftly when executing their duties. During the operation, thirty (30) undocumented persons were arrested, which sixteen of them are originally from Malawi, eight originally from Zimbabwe and one originally from Lesoto. Eight traffic fines were also issued with a total amount of R3100.

De Deur SAPS Acting Station Commander L.t. Colonel Anver Hammond applauded the members for acting swiftly and ensuring that this operation was a success. L.t Colonel Anver Hammond further elaborated on how this kind of operations assist in keeping order and less criminality in the area.
