Midvaal gives the gift of mobility with wheelchair and crutch donations
The Executive Mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality, Alderman Peter Teixeira, along with Members of the Mayoral Committee, donated wheelchairs and crutches to people living with disabilities.
This donation builds on last year’s initiative, where we donated 40 wheelchairs and 20 pairs of crutches. This year, we have procured 40 wheelchairs and 80 pairs of crutches. The first batch was donated today, while the rest will be distributed over time to ensure continued assistance for those in need.
The beneficiaries of this donation come from various communities across Midvaal. This initiative aligns with Midvaal’s mission of being a people-centred and compassionate institution. As a local government, we recognise the importance of supporting our residents, especially the most vulnerable. We have pledged and will continue to leverage our resources to support people living with disabilities and today, we reaffirm that commitment.
Midvaal’s dedication to supporting those with disabilities extends beyond providing mobility aids. We are continuously working to make Midvaal more accessible to all, ensuring that every resident, regardless of their circumstances, feels a sense of belonging. We want to build a Midvaal that everyone can proudly call home.
