Son arrested for brutal murder of mother and brother in Henley on Klip
The peaceful suburb of Henley on Klip was rocked by a brutal double murder on Sunday, 4 May. A 25-year-old man, Brazae Daniel Mogudi, has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder following the deaths of his mother and younger brother.
According to Constable Nompumelelo Zazini, Communications Officer for Meyerton SAPS, the incident was reported at approximately 19:15 and was initially responded to by Constable W.Sweetie.
“Upon arrival at the scene at 192 Shiplake Street, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of a 54-year-old woman and a 17-year-old male near the gate. Both victims had sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck, face and hands,” said Constable Zazini.
The victims have been identified as Mrs Dikeledi Bellina Mogudi (54) and her teenage son, Nthatile Mogudi (17). It is alleged that the suspect, the elder son of Mrs Mogudi, fled the scene following the attack but later turned himself in at the police station, where he was formally detained.
The suspect made his first appearance in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on 8 May, and the motive behind the killings is still under investigation.
