De Deur’s operation combats crime, ensures community safety
On Monday, 7 July, police officers from various stations within the Sedibeng District descended on the De Deur policing precinct as part of a coordinated high-density operation aimed at combating crime and ensuring public safety.
As law enforcement vehicles moved into the area, residents of De Deur were reassured by the visible presence of SAPS members, reinforcing the commitment of the police to serve, protect and uphold the law. The operation resulted in several arrests, including six suspects found in possession of illicit drugs, one individual apprehended for selling alcohol without a valid license and another suspect arrested for obstructing police officers from performing their duties.
Lieutenant Colonel Anver Hammond commended all members involved for their professionalism and dedication during the operation. He emphasized the importance of such coordinated efforts in addressing lawlessness and maintaining order within the community.
“These operations, along with the manpower they bring, play a crucial role in fighting crime and restoring public confidence,” said Hammond.
