Meyerton SAPS conduct crime awareness in Silahliwe

Meyerton SAPS Vispol Commander, Lt/Colonel De Winnaar, together with Sgt Wiese, led a crime awareness initiative in Silahliwe following community complaints about areas where residents had been targeted by thieves.

The community welcomed the presence of police patrols, which included the Vispol Commander conducting bike patrols throughout the area. Lt/Colonel De Winnaar assured the residents of Silahliwe that regular patrols and Vehicle Check Points (VCPs) would be established to prevent crime, and additional measures would be put in place to support the community.

He emphasised the importance of community involvement, urging residents to report illegal activities and to act as the “eyes and ears” of the neighbourhood, in line with the E2 strategy.
