Midvaal shines with three awards at the CoGTA National Good Governance Awards
Midvaal Municipality does it again by walking away with the Outstanding Achievement Award for maintaining clean audits and adopting funded budgets for ten consecutive years or more. In addition, Midvaal was recognised with a second Outstanding Achievement Award for receiving clean audit outcomes for over a decade, as well as a Certificate of Achievement for securing a clean audit for the 2023–2024 financial year.
These accolades reaffirm Midvaal’s ongoing commitment to financial accountability, ethical leadership, and responsible fiscal planning — setting a strong example for municipalities nationwide.
Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira attributed the achievement to teamwork and community support, stating: “None of these accolades would be possible without the continued efforts of our dedicated workforce, the political oversight provided by public representatives, and the support of our communities. Good governance is possible when you appoint qualified and fit-for-purpose individuals, and when public representatives have the political will to make municipalities work.”
Midvaal continues to uphold the highest standards of good governance and service delivery, standing as a beacon of integrity and efficiency within local government. Walkerville and Savanna City Times congratulates the Midvaal Municipality on yet another outstanding achievement.
