Murder probe launched after fatal shooting in Mountain City
South African Police Service (SAPS) in De Deur have opened a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in Mountain City.
SAPS confirmed on a statement that officers responded to a murder complaint on Monday, 16 February. “Upon arrival at the scene the police found a lifeless body of an African male who is estimated to be in his early 30s with multiple gun wounds. The deceased was identified on the scene,” reads the statement.
Authorities have strongly condemned the incident and assured the community that investigations are progressing as they work to track down and apprehend those responsible.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any information related to the shooting to come forward. Information that could assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice can be shared at the nearest police station.
