Three sought after Meyerton CBD fire damages four buildings

Meyerton police are searching for three suspects following a fire that damaged four buildings in the town’s central business district on Tuesday evening, 21 July 2026.

According to Meyerton SAPS spokesperson Constable Nompumelelo Zazini, CCTV footage allegedly captured the suspects entering an Ackermans store shortly before the fire started at about 19:00.

“The suspects fled the scene after the fire broke out,” Zazini said.

The blaze affected the Meyerton SASSA offices, Crazy Store, Fashion World and Sweets Land. No injuries were reported.

Police have opened an arson case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
