MEC visits Evaton facilities to assess digital service delivery
Gauteng MEC for e-Government Bonginkosi Dhlamini will visit three public facilities in Evaton today, 29 July 2026, to assess how the Gauteng Provincial Network is supporting healthcare, education and access to government services.
The visit forms part of the provincial government’s Imbizo Wednesdays programme and will begin at 10:00 at Levai Mbatha Community Health Centre before moving to Jordan Secondary School and Evaton Library.
Dhlamini is expected to engage facility managers, staff, learners and community members to identify digital infrastructure gaps and areas requiring improvement.
According to the Gauteng Department of e-Government, the programme is aimed at “bringing government closer to the people and strengthening service delivery through direct engagement with communities”.
The department said the visits would assess whether public facilities have the connectivity and digital systems needed to improve access to healthcare, education, information and other essential services.
The engagement also forms part of the province’s broader plan to build a smarter and more connected Gauteng by strengthening technology infrastructure at public institutions.
The programme takes place as part of a wider provincial government engagement in Evaton focusing on service-delivery challenges affecting residents of the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
