Donations brighten Mandela Day for Midvaal children

Children at Adonai Care Centre received food, clothing, stationery, toiletries and other essential items during a Mandela Day celebration held at Hibiscus on 18 July.

The event was hosted in partnership with TNR–Play Room, which also distributed party packs and gift bags to the children.

Beyond the donations, the team transformed the centre’s container by branding its walls and creating a brighter, more child-friendly space.

“We really thank God for TNR–Play Room for coming and for their hearts to serve,” an Adonai Care Centre project manager Thobeka Mthembu said.

Urban Wave and SPAR also supported the initiative, while the centre acknowledged community leaders, local businesses, the Midvaal Local Municipality, HIVSA and the Department of Social Development.

The celebration comes as Adonai Care Centre marks 20 years of service in the Midvaal community. The organisation is now preparing to host a charity gala dinner to raise funds for its ongoing work.
