Search underway for missing Sebokeng teenager

August 4, 2026

Sebokeng police have launched a search for 17-year-old Sihle Mabala, who was reported missing after she failed to return home from school.

Sihle was last seen on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, when she left her home in Kanana, Sebokeng, wearing her school uniform and travelled to Fundulwazi Secondary School in Zone 12.

According to police, she did not return home that afternoon. Her mother initially believed she may have visited her father, who also lives in Zone 12.

The following day, Thursday, 30 July, Sihle’s mother went to her father’s home but could not find her.

A Venue Operational Centre has since been established under the leadership of the Sebokeng SAPS Acting Detective Branch Commander to coordinate the search.

“Anyone with information that may assist in reuniting Sihle with her family is urged to come forward,” police said.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts can contact Detective Warrant Officer Radebe on 082 412 5886, Sebokeng SAPS on 016 466 2047 or 082 498 9563.

Information may also be reported by calling 112, 10111 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or through the MySAPS App.
