Lesufi to engage Emfuleni residents over service delivery challenges

Residents of Ramaphosa Informal Settlement will have an opportunity to raise concerns about sanitation, electricity and infrastructure directly with provincial and local government leaders on Wednesday afternoon.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Members of the Executive Council and representatives from the Emfuleni Local Municipality and Sedibeng District Municipality are expected to lead the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Imbizo Wednesdays programme on September 9.

The community engagement will take place at Five Fold Ministries Church in Ramaphosa Informal Settlement from 15:00.

According to the provincial government, officials will provide feedback on interventions currently under way and discuss community concerns that require coordinated action from different spheres of government.

The programme is intended to bring government closer to residents, strengthen public participation and create a platform for communities to hold officials accountable over service delivery.

The engagement comes as communities across Emfuleni continue to seek solutions to challenges affecting essential municipal services and public infrastructure.
