Two firearm seized in Sebokeng raid
A 44-year-old man has been arrested after police recovered two firearms and ammunition during a Crime Intelligence-driven operation in Sebokeng.
Members of the SAPS Sedibeng Tactical Response Team conducted the operation at approximately 06:30 on Monday, 10 August.
During a search of the premises, officers recovered a modified Beretta 9mm pistol and a Glock 9mm pistol.
They also seized 13 live rounds of ammunition and one blank round.
“The suspect was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court,” said Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni
The operation forms part of ongoing Crime Intelligence-driven efforts by SAPS to remove illegal firearms and ammunition from communities.
Investigations are continuing.
