Midvaal to introduce staff and community bursaries
In his recent State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), Ald Peter Teixeira, the Executive Mayor of Midvaal, highlighted the municipality’s intention to implement new policies aimed at assisting its staff members with the costs of their children’s higher education and community members with the financial burden of higher and tertiary education.
Teixeira told Walkerville & Savanna City Times: “Midvaal is committed to supporting educational opportunities and accessibility for its residents. Policy for the two programs will be presented during the 2023/2024 budget cycle. To ensure a smooth and transparent process, we are currently in the process of developing a comprehensive communication campaign around dispensing the bursary funds.”
The mayor noted that the campaign anticipated to be launched in the next few months will provide detailed information on the application and selection procedures for these initiatives.
He added: “This investment aligns with Midvaal’s vision of being a people-centred and compassionate institution. We firmly believe that by investing in the development and advancement of our staff and residents, we can contribute to enhancing their quality of life. We will continue to work diligently to implement these policies and keep our community informed about the progress and opportunities they offer.”
