Use of police vehicle for personal errands lands cop in hot water
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has said it is investigating the use of a state vehicle for personal use by an on-duty police officer after a video showing the officer purchasing grain and loading it at the back of the van has gone viral on social media.
“A preliminary investigation has revealed that the member is a Sergeant attached to the Durban Harbour. The SAPS views such action in a serious light and assures members of the public that resources such as state vehicle’s are there to ensure optimal running and functioning of the service and to service our communities,” said SAPS spokesperson Brig Athlenda Mathe.
