Midvaal Mayor donates 150 school shoes to Michael Rua

As part of the Back-to-School programme, Midvaal Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira, alongside Members of the Mayoral Committee, donated over 150 pairs of school shoes and socks to learners at Michael Rua School.

Michael Rua, a farm school dependent on donations and fundraising, provides food, accommodation and education to its students. “This donation aims to ease the challenges faced by learners in need while restoring their dignity,” said the Mayor.

He emphasised the government’s responsibility to support learners, ensuring they stay motivated and don’t lose hope due to a lack of resources.

Midvaal remains committed to being a compassionate, people-centred institution, with initiatives like this reinforcing its dedication to uplifting the community.
