Meyerton police investigate gruesome murder in Farms area

A murder investigation is underway in Meyerton Farms after the body of an unidentified man was discovered in the early hours of Friday morning, 11 July.

Police were called to the corner of Gourley and Station Road around 06:30, where they found the body of a Black African male with a fatal stab wound near his left eye.

Constable Zazini, spokesperson for Meyerton SAPS, confirmed the details. “Officers responded to a complaint and, upon arrival, found the victim already deceased. The motive is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing,” she said.

At this stage, no arrests have been made and the police are urging community members to come forward with any information that may assist in the case.

“This is a serious matter and we’re appealing to anyone who might know something no matter how small to please come forward or use Crime Stop to report anonymously,” said Constable Zazini.

The incident has left many residents shaken, with growing calls for improved police visibility and action to address violent crimes in the area.
