Vote now: Evaton’s Kenneth nominated for Inspirational Speaker Award
Kenneth Zakathi, a proud son of Evaton, has been nominated for the Inspirational Speaker of the Year award at the Big Up Awards 2025, a prestigious national recognition of his impact in Sedibeng and beyond.
Kenneth’s journey began on Thetha FM, where as a guest alongside the late Daniel “Dez” Rakgokgo, he used his voice not just for entertainment but to inspire hope in families and youth across the Vaal Triangle.
Determined to make a difference, Kenneth launched a life skills programme reaching 10 local schools, guiding learners who struggled with discipline toward brighter futures. Many of these young people have since transformed their lives, a testament to his dedication.
In 2021, Kenneth’s influence was recognised nationally with a nomination for Best Radio Presenter at the Mzansi Arts and Media Awards (MAMA). More recently, his heartfelt interview on SABC’s Channel Africa touched millions, with Kenneth urging, “I believe in the beauty of dreams. Nothing is impossible.”
Kenneth now calls on the community to help bring the award home by voting on his Facebook page. Simply search for “Kenneth Zakathi” and click the pinned voting link.
Beyond broadcasting, Kenneth is the founder of Family Restoration, a movement focused on healing families and rebuilding communities. He is also an author of four books, including Family Foundations and The Patriarchs.
Zakhathi said: “This nomination reflects our community’s spirit. Together, we can bring this award home to the Vaal.”
