Stillborn baby found on rubbish heap in Sicelo
Meyerton SAPS responded to a distress call from the Sicelo community in Ward 8 after the body of a stillborn baby was discovered on a rubbish heap.
According to eyewitness accounts, children were playing nearby when they made the shocking discovery. They immediately alerted their parents, who then contacted authorities. Paramedics arrived on the scene and confirmed that the infant was deceased.
An inquest docket has since been opened and investigations are underway. Meyerton SAPS Communication Officer, Constable Nompumelelo Zazini, addressed the community, urging residents to refrain from acts that endanger the lives of infants.
She encouraged individuals facing challenges with unwanted pregnancies to seek help from clinics or hospitals, where social services can provide the necessary support. All relevant stakeholders attended the scene, and the matter remains under investigation.
