Midvaal secures 2 gold and a diamond at 2025 PMR.africa awards
Midvaal Local Municipality has been recognized for excellence at the 2025 PMR.africa Golden Arrow Awards, held recently to celebrate outstanding public service. The municipality won three major awards.
According to a statement released by the Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, Midvaal municipality was honoured in the Local Government Initiatives category, receiving two Gold awards and the highly coveted Diamond award.
“Midvaal received Gold for doing the most for job creation and attracting tourism, as well as Gold for efforts to clean the environment, develop and enhance infrastructure, and fight crime. The municipality also walked away with the Diamond Award (1st overall) for social upliftment and attracting both foreign and local investment,” said Teixeira.
Teixeira further received the Diamond (1st overall) Outstanding award for Pro-active Mayors. He said: “The PMR.africa Awards recognise institutions that have demonstrated excellence in service delivery and hard work. Midvaal Local Municipality is honoured to receive these awards and recognition, as we consistently strive to deliver excellent services, remain innovative, enhance infrastructure, and uplift our region. Midvaal remains committed to setting and sustaining the highest standards of good governance.”
He added that teamwork and community support played a major role in the municipality’s success.
