One killed, one seriously injured in a motorcycle and minibus collision in Meyerton
In the early hours of Saturday morning, around 03:00, CERT-SA Vaal crew received a call for a motorcycle collision on Pierneef and Louis Thrichardt Street, Meyerton. Upon arrival, they found that a bike had collided with a minibus, and a male and a female patient were trapped underneath the minibus.
Midvaal fire lifted the vehicle, and CERT-SA managed to extricate both patients from underneath the vehicle. The female sustained serious injuries, and the male patient sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
CERT-SA stabilized the female patient on scene and she was transported to a nearby facility by ER24. They thanked everyone, Midvaal Fire, for the rapid en effective work on the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear and will form part of a police investigation.
