Two arrested, firearms seized in Sicelo operation

On 14 March, police arrested two suspects in Sicelo and recovered two unlicensed firearms, magazines, and live ammunition in a crackdown on violent crime.

Meyerton SAPS Communication Officer Nompumelelo Zazini told Walkerville and Savanna City Times: “The suspects could be linked to the recent murders in Sicelo.”

Meyerton Station Commander Col Senzangakona Christopher Mohale praised the officers involved.

“We applaud excellence from our members. This is what the community expects – that we go the extra mile. Criminals must know that we will always squeeze the space,” he said.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
