Eleven arrested in fuel theft bust at Meyerton Plant
An intelligence-driven operation by the Hawks has led to the arrest of eleven suspects aged between 27 and 46, linked to an alleged fuel theft operation at a fuel plant in Meyerton on Sunday morning.
According to the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS), members acted swiftly after receiving information about a planned robbery at the fuel facility. The intelligence was operationalised, and the area was immediately placed under surveillance.

During the operation, authorities observed two fuel tankers entering the premises. Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the plant had been placed under administration, raising further suspicions around the activity taking place on-site.
Investigators also suspect that security personnel responsible for guarding the premises may have worked together with the suspects. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged criminal operation and whether more arrests could follow.

The crime scene remains active as police continue processing evidence and conducting further enquiries.
The Hawks have not yet released the identities of the suspects, and they are expected to appear in court soon on charges related to fuel theft and possible conspiracy.
