Kanana Park duo dive deep with spiritual anthem “Ocean”

Kanana Park music duo Mponda Brothers are turning up the heat in local dance music scene with their powerful new release, Ocean by Mpondabrothers & Siz (Original Mix) 2026, already making waves on Shafee.

Made up of brothers Lawrence Sibusiso Matewela and Ntokozo Matewela from Kanana Park Ext 5, also known as Thulamntwana, the duo are known for fusing Afro house, amapiano, tribal house, Afro tech and deep house into a unique spiritual African sound.

Their latest offering, “Ocean”, is more than just a dance track – it is a soulful musical journey inspired by African spirituality, ancestral connection and deep emotion, wrapped in hypnotic amapiano rhythms and rich African elements.

“We wanted to create something powerful and spiritual that people can dance to but also connect with emotionally,” said the duo.

The release continues the brothers’ steady rise in the music industry after years of hard work, rejection and persistence. Before becoming Mponda Brothers, the pair were members of music group Uni_boyz SA, where they released several projects before carving out their own identity in the dance music scene.

Since officially launching their journey in 2012, the duo have performed at major events including the Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition, Gauteng Music Concert, ANC rallies and Newtown concerts.

Working alongside collaborator Siz, the brothers say Ocean represents growth, healing and staying true to their roots while pushing African electronic music forward.

Despite facing criticism in the early stages of their careers over their production quality, the duo never gave up.

“People used to say our music was not good enough, but we kept learning, improving and believing in ourselves,” they added.

Now, with Ocean gaining attention, Mponda Brothers are proving that consistency, passion and authenticity can turn dreams into reality.
