Midvaal strengthens victim support with first aid kits

Midvaal Local Municipality handed over first aid kits to its Victim Empowerment team on 31 July, to strengthen its response when assisting survivors.

MMC for Public Safety and Roads, Councillor Chantal Gomes, delivered the kits as part of the municipality’s commitment to improving community safety and support services.

The equipment will help the team provide immediate basic medical assistance while supporting victims during emergencies and other vulnerable situations.

“These kits will equip the team to respond quickly when it matters most and strengthen the important work they do for survivors,” Gomes said.

The municipality said the donation was a much-needed addition to the Victim Empowerment team’s daily work and would help ensure survivors receive practical assistance alongside emotional and social support.

The initiative forms part of Midvaal’s broader efforts to improve public safety and strengthen services available to vulnerable members of the community.
