Dee Bongz keeps it local, on and off the stage

Introduce yourself to Dee Bongz and two things come up: his music and the local brands he promotes. The performing artist from Three Rivers and Meyerton describes his sound as Vaal hip-hop, with self-expression at the centre of what he does.

“Music is how I express myself, but I also enjoy putting people onto local brands. I want someone who discovers me through a performance to discover something else from our area worth supporting,” he said.

Dee Bongz wears two hats – musician and brand promoter. On stage, the focus is his own craft. His promotional work gives him space to introduce people to homegrown names alongside his own.

That connection is part of how he wants to develop as an artist, keeping music and relationships with local businesses close together.

“I want to keep developing my music while building relationships with local brands that can grow alongside me,” said Dee Bongz.
