New opportunities await farmers at Midvaal agricultural information day
Farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders in Midvaal are being encouraged to participate in an upcoming agricultural information day aimed at strengthening partnerships, promoting innovation and creating economic opportunities.
Midvaal Local Municipality will host its Agricultural Information Day and Exhibition on 28 October 2026, bringing together farmers, agricultural businesses and key industry stakeholders.
The initiative, announced by the municipality’s Member of the Mayoral Committee for Development and Planning, Councillor T.M. Maduna, aims to support agricultural development and strengthen the local agricultural value chain.
According to a public notice issued on 12 October, the event is open to a wide range of agricultural participants, including livestock and animal producers, grain farmers, fresh produce growers, feed manufacturers, agro-processing businesses and suppliers of agricultural equipment.
Pharmaceutical and agrochemical companies have also been invited to participate.
The information day will feature capacity-building workshops focusing on the impact of El Niño on crop and livestock production, preparations for the planting season, agricultural financing and marketing opportunities.
Business-to-business networking sessions will provide participants with opportunities to establish partnerships and strengthen supply chain relationships.
Panel discussions and stakeholder engagements will explore food systems transformation, climate-smart agriculture and financing opportunities within the sector.
The municipality has also highlighted the importance of creating greater access to suitable markets for agricultural producers and businesses.
Special sessions will focus on encouraging participation by young people, women and vulnerable groups, promoting a more inclusive agricultural economy.
Agricultural businesses interested in exhibiting and marketing their products are invited to register before the end of business on 21 October 2026.
Registration enquiries should be directed to Siphe Mvango on 016 360 7666 or via email at siphem@midvaal.gov.za.
The exhibition forms part of Midvaal’s efforts to encourage agricultural participation, promote business development and provide opportunities for collaboration between producers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Through the initiative, the municipality hopes to strengthen connections within the agricultural sector while supporting farmers and emerging agricultural entrepreneurs.
Businesses wishing to participate are encouraged to register before the deadline to secure their involvement in the event.
