A swift response by Afri Guard Armed Response officers, working alongside Meyerton SAPS members, led to the detention of a suspect allegedly attempting to break into a residential property.

According to information provided by Afri Guard, officers were dispatched to the property following reports of an attempted break-in. Upon arrival, an armed response officer entered the premises alongside members of Meyerton SAPS, where they allegedly found the suspect breaking windows with a brick in an attempt to gain access to the home.

The suspect was immediately detained, and a subsequent search allegedly uncovered a large knife concealed in his waistband. The complainant further alleged that the suspect had threatened to kill them, raising concerns about the potential danger posed during the incident.

The swift intervention prevented the situation from escalating further, although the full circumstances surrounding the incident have not been independently confirmed. It remains unclear whether the suspect was formally arrested, what charges may have been brought against him, or whether he has appeared in court.

Afri Guard’s account highlights the role of rapid response and cooperation between private security personnel and the South African Police Service in responding to reported security threats. Further details are awaited from Meyerton SAPS.
