De Deur SAPS formed part of a resounding campaign event aimed at encouraging learners at New Hope Secondary School to report crime
On Wednesday, 2026-05-27 a resounding and meticulously coordinated Child Protection Week Awareness Campaign was successfully executed at New Hope Secondary School. The initiative was strategically directed at fortifying the safety, protection, and psychosocial well-being of learners within the educational environment.
Learners were conscientized and unequivocally encouraged to expose and report all manifestations of abuse, bullying, cyberbullying, violence, victimization, substance abuse, and any criminal transgressions adversely affecting children and youth.
The campaign further highlighted the indispensable obligation of all stakeholders to cultivate a secure, disciplined, and academically conducive environment wherein learners are able to thrive without fear or intimidation.
Furthermore, the programme significantly consolidated collaborative synergy between stakeholders, educators, learners, community structures, and law enforcement agencies in the collective endeavour to safeguard the constitutional rights, dignity, and future of every child.

- Ke Moja Substance Abuse Programme
The aim of this programme was to vigorously promote and reinforce learner’s safety and child protection during the Child Protection Week. To raise awareness and educate learners regarding the detrimental consequences and societal implications of bullying, cyberbullying, substance abuse, and other prevailing social maladies affecting children. To encourage learners to decisively speak out against abuse, neglect, violence, intimidation, and criminal activities within their communities and school environments. To capacitate learners with indispensable knowledge pertaining to child rights, personal safety, accountability, and informed decision-making.
A total number of 350 learners were successfully reached, empowered, and sensitized during the awareness campaign.
