From Sunset to Sunrise: DJ GAAPS gears up for new music release

October 22, 2026

Katleho Andries Nyoni, popularly known as GAAPS is preparing to make his next musical statement with the release of his Deep House single, Sunset to Sunrise, on 28 October.

This DJ and producer is building his name in South Africa’s music industry, drawing inspiration from township culture, soulful melodies and his passion for connecting people through music.

For DJ GAAPS, the upcoming release marks another step in a journey that officially began in 2022, when he decided to pursue music professionally.

Originally from Elandsfontein in Eikenhof, the artist developed a love for music and entertainment while growing up. Today, he is working to establish a distinctive sound that blends Deep House with Mzankonko influences.

His growing musical portfolio includes tracks such as Black Mashesha, Joz’Kasi Lam, The G, Music To Play and Busio Menateng.

DJ GAAPS has also had opportunities to perform alongside some of South Africa’s recognised entertainers, including Zola, Tman Xpress, LeeMcKrazy, Zodwa Wabantu, DJ Mahoota & Vetkuk, and DJ Jaivane.

However, his attention is now firmly on Sunset to Sunrise, which is scheduled for release on Wednesday, 28 October.

Speaking about his passion for music, DJ GAAPS shared a message that captures the philosophy behind his career.

“Music is more than sound – it’s a way of life, a story, and a connection between people,” he said.

With ambitions to expand his audience through new releases, collaborations and live performances, the Orange Farm artist hopes to establish a lasting presence in the South African entertainment industry.

As the countdown to 28 October begins, Sunset to Sunrise represents another opportunity for DJ GAAPS to introduce his music to a wider audience.
