Sweet support: Chic Choc Chick gives back to our everyday heroes

What started as a family hustle has turned into a heartfelt mission of giving back. Chic Choc Chick, a small local business known for crafting handmade chocolates for everyday enjoyment and special occasions, is now making a difference one sweet at a time.

Founded with the goal of supporting a family, the business has taken a bold step to pay it forward by donating a portion of its profits to meaningful causes. Owner Joanne Baines chose to support the Midvaal First Responders – including fire and traffic teams – as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work, courage, and willingness to go beyond the call of duty.

Their first community event took place on 30 March at About Time in Henley on Klip, where the MMC of Public Safety and Roads, Cllr Chantal Gomes, also joined to show support for this sweet initiative. Chic Choc Chick proves that small businesses can make a big impact – one chocolate at a time.
