De Deur SAPS partners with Community Safety to open Green Doors in Kanana Park and Tshepong
On 30 August, De Deur SAPS proudly partnered with the Department of Community Safety to launch the innovative Green Door Initiative. This visionary campaign aims to strengthen the connection between communities and essential services, enhancing service delivery and promoting collaborative governance.
On the day, two pioneering Green Doors were officially unveiled within the De Deur SAPS policing precincts. The first, located at 2086, Tshepong Phase 2, will be championed by Ntombizodwa Makenete, the appointed ambassador. The second, at 1721, Kanana Park Extension 2, Cembe Avenue, will be led by Seipati Motaung, the dedicated ambassador.
These trailblazing Green Doors will offer a wide range of services, including emotional containment and referrals, as well as liaison with SAPS, courts, and social development services. They will also provide a safe haven for victims awaiting police response, while fostering empowerment and support for vulnerable community members.
Acting Station Commander Lt Colonel Anver Hammond warmly welcomed this initiative and encouraged the community to make full use of the Green Doors and the valuable services they provide. He emphasized that De Deur SAPS looks forward to working closely with the ambassadors to deliver exceptional service and strengthen efforts to combat criminality in the area.
