Service delivery teams descend on Daleside

Midvaal Local Municipality took service delivery directly to the streets of Daleside on Thursday, 23 July, as municipal teams rolled up their sleeves for another Blitz Service Delivery operation.

The initiative saw different municipal departments working together to address maintenance needs, improve public spaces and attend to concerns affecting residents in the area.

Instead of waiting for problems to pile up, the blitz approach allows municipal officials and service teams to focus their resources on one community and tackle several issues within a short period.

Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira said working inside communities enables the municipality to identify problems, respond more quickly and communicate directly with residents.

“By working directly in communities, we are able to respond faster to service delivery needs, engage with residents and ensure our neighbourhoods remain clean, safe and well maintained,” Teixeira said.

The Daleside operation formed part of Midvaal’s wider drive to strengthen visible and responsive service delivery across its communities.

The municipality has continued to use its Service Delivery Thursday programme to bring officials, political leadership and operational teams closer to residents, while ensuring that reported problems receive on-the-ground attention.

Residents were also encouraged to report outstanding concerns through the municipality’s official channels and to work with officials to help keep Daleside clean and well maintained.

The operation was conducted under the banner #ProudlyMidvaal, reinforcing the municipality’s message that effective service delivery should be visible and felt within every community.
