Municipality achieves 94.74% of service delivery targets
Midvaal Local Municipality achieved 72 of its 76 Key Performance Indicators for the 2025/2026 financial year, resulting in an overall performance rate of 94.74%.
The results are contained in the municipality’s Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP), which tracks whether approved plans and budgets are being translated into measurable service delivery outcomes.
According to the municipality, the SDBIP monitors both financial and non-financial performance and allows officials to identify areas where targets are falling behind and corrective action is required.
Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira said the municipality would remain focused on improving performance and ensuring that its plans translate into better services for residents.
“Through continued efficient management and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Municipality will continue working to turn its plans and budget into meaningful results and improved services for the people of Midvaal,” Teixeira said.
Four KPIs were not achieved during the reporting period.
The municipality said the relevant departments were implementing corrective measures to address the outstanding targets and ensure that areas where performance fell short are improved.
The SDBIP also allows the Executive Mayor, Council, Municipal Manager and senior management to review progress against approved targets and strengthen accountability for service delivery and budget implementation.
While the municipality described the 72 achieved indicators as evidence of a strong performance culture, it has not yet specified which four KPIs were missed or detailed the corrective measures being implemented.
