Midvaal Mayor takes traders’ concerns to the ground
Small business owners at the Taxi Rank Trading Stalls had a chance to put their concerns directly to Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira today 31 August, during an oversight visit to the facility.
Teixeira walked through the trading area, engaged with stall owners and heard first-hand about the difficulties they have faced since the facility opened.
The visit focused on understanding the challenges affecting traders and identifying practical ways to improve conditions at the stalls.
“This morning I visited the Taxi Rank Trading Stalls to hear directly from small business owners about the challenges they have faced since the facility opened,” Teixeira said.
He summed up the purpose of the visit simply: “Listening. Engaging. Finding solutions.”
The engagement allowed traders to speak openly about their experiences while giving the municipality an opportunity to assess conditions on the ground rather than relying only on reports.
The oversight visit also highlighted the role of direct engagement in addressing concerns affecting small businesses operating from municipal facilities.
