Midvaal marks Arbor Week with greening drive

September 28, 2026

Cleaner air, shade and healthier neighbourhoods were at the heart of Midvaal’s message as it commemorated Arbor Week.

The municipality highlighted its continued commitment to greening communities “one tree at a time”, while encouraging residents to help improve their surroundings.

Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira said trees do more than beautify local areas; they also contribute to healthier environments.

“Let’s all do our part: plant a tree, green your area, and help us build a greener Midvaal,” he said.

The call encouraged residents to make tree planting part of a shared effort to create greener communities.
