Midvaal repairs more than 4 500 potholes in September
Road maintenance teams in Midvaal repaired more than 4 500 potholes during September as the municipality steps up efforts to improve road conditions across the area.
The municipality repaired 4 524 potholes last month, an increase of 1 624 from the 2 900 repaired in August. This represents a 56% month-on-month increase in pothole repairs.

The municipality said the work forms part of its ongoing road infrastructure maintenance programme, which also included clearing 3 561 square metres of stormwater infrastructure and removing weeds from 2 904 square metres of municipal areas.
Maintenance teams also worked on 28 gravel roads, with 15 kilometres of roads regravelled during September.
Additional work included cutting down obstructive trees, trimming vegetation, replacing damaged road signs and repainting road markings.
The increased maintenance comes as road conditions remain an important concern for communities that rely on local roads for daily travel, including motorists, public transport operators and pedestrians.
The municipality said it would continue with its maintenance programme to improve road safety and ensure roads are maintained to the standard expected by residents.
