Meyerton unites in search for missing Naledi Zwane

The search for missing 21-year-old Naledi Zwane continues after she reportedly went missing on 9 June at the Meyerton Licence Department.

On 4 July, Meyerton SAPS supported a prayer walk held in Vanderbijlpark as part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness and appeal for information that may lead to Naledi’s safe return. A missing person inquiry has since been opened.

The prayer walk was initiated by IChange Bible Church Vanderbijlpark under the leadership of Bishop Mandla Mthethwa and Lady Bishop Thandi Mthethwa. The initiative brought together church members from the Ladies Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Youth Ministry known as Re-Ignite, and the Children’s Ministry, where Naledi served as a teacher.

Community members walked through Meyerton praying for Naledi’s safe return while also distributing pamphlets to spread her information and encourage residents to come forward with any possible leads. According to Meyerton SAPS, the prayer walk reached approximately 300 people.

Meyerton SAPS Communication Officer Constable TN Zazini said the police appreciate the efforts of the church and community in helping to keep Naledi’s case in the public eye.

“We are grateful to IChange Bible Church, the community and everyone who participated in the prayer walk. Their support plays an important role in strengthening the effort to find Naledi Zwane and bring her home safely,” said Constable Zazini.

Zazini also appealed to the public to assist police with information.

“We are pleading with anyone who may have information that can assist in finding Naledi Zwane to come forward. Meyerton SAPS remains committed to serving the community with integrity and ensuring the safety of all residents,” said Constable Zazini.

Meyerton Station Commander Colonel Senzangakona Christopher Mohale, through Meyerton SAPS, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to working with the community and keeping Meyerton safe.

Anyone with information that could assist police in finding Naledi Zwane is urged to contact Meyerton SAPS.
