New vehicles set to improve Midvaal’s response times
Midvaal Local Municipality has unveiled 14 new vehicles aimed at strengthening municipal operations and improving service delivery across its communities.
The newly acquired fleet will be deployed to key municipal departments responsible for maintaining water, sewer and purification infrastructure.
According to the municipality, the additional vehicles will allow operational teams to respond more quickly to service delivery challenges while supporting the maintenance and upgrading of critical infrastructure.
The Water Section will receive a Tractor Loader Backhoe, commonly known as a TLB, as well as bakkies to assist teams with maintenance and other daily operational activities.
Single-cab and double-cab bakkies will also be allocated to the Sewer Section to improve response times and strengthen the delivery of essential sewer services.
The Purification Section will receive single-cab bakkies to assist employees in carrying out their daily duties more efficiently.
Midvaal Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira said the municipality’s investment in its fleet would help ensure that teams were properly equipped to serve residents.
“The expansion of our municipal fleet is central to delivering excellent service delivery. It ensures that our teams have the tools and capacity needed to respond efficiently to the needs of our communities,” Teixeira said.
He added that the municipality would continue investing in its fleet to improve its reach and address service delivery needs across Midvaal.
“Midvaal will continue to invest in expanding its fleet to ensure that we can reach all our communities and continue to address all service delivery needs,” Teixeira added.
The municipality said it would continue investing in vehicles and operational equipment to ensure that municipal teams can reach communities and address service delivery needs effectively.
The new fleet forms part of Midvaal’s broader efforts to improve its operational capacity and ensure uninterrupted and reliable municipal services.
