Decomposed body discovered in Doornkuil

Police have opened an inquest after the decomposed body of an unidentified person was discovered in Doornkuil, De Deur, on Monday, 21 September.

According to De Deur SAPS, police were called to the scene after a passerby spotted the body and alerted a local community leader.

Officers who responded found the body in an advanced state of decomposition. Police said the person’s gender could not be confirmed at the scene.

“The decomposed body will undergo DNA testing for investigation,” De Deur SAPS said.

An inquest docket has been opened and investigations are continuing.
