62nd Walkerville Agricultural Show – A weekend of tradition, community & family fun

The 62nd Walkerville Agricultural Show took place over the weekend of 6 and 7 September, bringing together the local community and visitors for two days filled with agricultural pride, entertainment, and family fun.

With over six decades of history, the Walkerville Agricultural Show has become a much-anticipated highlight on the community calendar. This year’s event did not disappoint, showcasing everything from livestock displays and equestrian events to local produce, arts and crafts, and trade stalls.

The showgrounds were alive with vibrant energy, drawing families, farmers, and exhibitors from across the region. Visitors enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including animal exhibitions highlighting the best of local farming and livestock, equestrian displays and competitions, food and craft stalls featuring homegrown produce and handmade goods, and entertainment for all ages with live music, performances, and dedicated children’s activities.

The spirit of community shone through, with volunteers, exhibitors, and local businesses all contributing to the show’s ongoing success. The event not only celebrated Walkerville’s agricultural heritage but also provided a platform for small businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and products.

From horses and classic cars to poultry, rabbits, handmade goods, and live music, the programme was rich and diverse. The mayor’s tree planting during Arbor Week added a lasting symbol of growth and community, creating a meaningful highlight for the occasion. This achievement would not have been possible without the tireless commitment of the Show Committee and the unwavering support of the community.

Together with stallholders, performers, partners, and the valued assistance of volunteers from Victim Empowerment, Walkerville has once again set the standard for a truly memorable agricultural show.

The 62nd Walkerville Agricultural Show proved to be a resounding success, blending tradition with modern family entertainment while celebrating the very best of agriculture, craftsmanship and community spirit.
