SAPS increase visibility as the new school opens in Rust-Ter-Vaal

South African Police Service personnel across the Sedibeng District were deployed to the Rust-Ter-Vaal area on 14 January, to strengthen safety and community engagement.

The operation took place in the De Deur policing precinct and focused on security in and around the newly opened Rust-Ter-Vaal Secondary School. The increased police presence aimed to create a safe environment for learners and staff.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to improve safety around schools, with a focus on learner welfare. Police will continue monitoring the area to prevent substance abuse and other illegal activities and to ensure the school remains safe for the surrounding community.
