Midvaal secures 11th consecutive Clean Audit
Midvaal Local Municipality has once again demonstrated its commitment to good governance and financial accountability, securing its 11th consecutive clean audit for the 2023/2024 financial year.
The announcement was made by the Office of the Auditor-General (AG) during an ordinary council meeting on 30 January 2025. The audit, which reviewed the municipality’s financial statements, annual performance report, and legislative compliance, found no material findings, confirming Midvaal’s sound financial management.
According to the AG’s report, Midvaal has been maintaining its infrastructure to ensure continuous and sustainable service delivery in the region. The report also highlighted the municipality’s strong culture of accountability, integrity, and transparency, with daily financial management disciplines and effective consequence management in place.
Executive Mayor Cllr. Peter Teixeira welcomed the audit outcome, stating that the municipality remains dedicated to ensuring that clean audits translate into visible and impactful service delivery for residents.
“We will continue to work even harder to ensure that clean audits are not just numbers on paper but reflect real improvements in the lives of our people,” said Teixeira.
Midvaal’s consistent financial performance sets it apart in local governance, reinforcing its reputation as a well-managed municipality that prioritizes service excellence.
