MEC Motara hands over 280 title deeds to Sedibeng families

On 21 February, Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements, Tasneem Motara, handeded over 280 title deeds to beneficiaries in Tsepong and Lakeside Estate, within the Emfuleni and Midvaal Local Municipalities of the Sedibeng District.

This significant event underscores the Gauteng 6th Administration’s commitment to restoring the dignity of Gauteng residents and providing security of tenure. The handover took place in two parts.

The first ceremony was held in Tsepong, followed by a second ceremony at Lakeside Estate. MEC Motara was joined by Sedibeng District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Lerato Maloka, at both events.

The title deeds provide legal ownership of the properties to the beneficiaries, ensuring their long-term security and enabling them to use their properties as assets.

This initiative is part of the ongoing effort by the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements to address historical housing imbalances and empower communities. MEC Motara emphasized the importance of homeownership and the stability it brings to families.

She reiterated the government’s dedication to accelerating the delivery of title deeds and creating sustainable human settlements.

Mayor Maloka echoed these sentiments, highlighting the positive impact of the title deed handover on the lives of Sedibeng residents.

The Department of Human Settlements continues to work tirelessly to ensure that all qualifying residents have access to secure and dignified housing.
