SAPS requests community assistance after body found in Henley on Klip
An inquest has been opened after the body of an unknown man was discovered lying on 20 November in an open veld on Marlowe Street in Henley on Klip, Meyerton, on Thursday. The lifeless body was found opposite house number 703 and reported to police by the homeowner.
According to police, the body of a Black African male was found lying on his left side with a visible wound to the lower back or abdomen, suspected to be either a stab or gunshot wound. Blood stains were visible on the ground near the body. The man was wearing brown trousers and a navy jacket.
Items found at the scene included a pair of green Nike takkies, one red glove, and R10 in coins located roughly 8mm from the body. The motive behind the incident remains unknown at this stage.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) , certified the man dead on the scene. The body was later handed over to Gauteng Forensic Pathology Services and transported to the Sebokeng forensic pathology facility.
Police spokesperson Zazini confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway.
“At this stage, the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to his death are still unknown. Our forensic team will conduct further examinations to assist the investigation,” Zazini said.
Police have urged anyone with information that may assist the inquiry to come forward.
