Midvaal residents engage government at Imbizo Wednesdays
Gauteng MEC for Human Settlements Tasneem Motara led the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Imbizo Wednesdays programme in Midvaal, where residents engaged directly with provincial and local leaders on issues affecting their communities.
Motara was joined by members of the Gauteng Provincial Executive Council, Midvaal Executive Mayor Peter Teixeira, councillors and other local leadership as government continued its drive to strengthen service delivery through meaningful public participation.
The imbizo provided residents with an opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions and receive updates on matters ranging from housing and infrastructure to municipal services and community development.
Addressing the gathering, Motara emphasised the importance of listening to communities.
“Listening to communities is just as important as delivering services. Imbizo Wednesdays provide residents with a platform to engage government directly, raise concerns and work together towards practical solutions that improve their daily lives,” she said.
The Gauteng Provincial Government said the initiative aims to bring government closer to communities by promoting accountability, transparency and collaboration while ensuring residents have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
Imbizo Wednesdays form part of the province’s ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen the relationship between government and the communities it serves.
