Savanna City Ready for SAB Test

August 6, 2026

Savanna Football Academy is heading into this weekend’s SAB League fixtures full of confidence after wrapping up its preparations with two friendly matches.

The team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Early Birds before responding with a 2-1 victory over Knolls, giving the coaching staff valuable insight ahead of the weekend’s action.

Savanna Football Academy will now shift its focus to the SAB League matches scheduled to be played at Sicelo Stadium and Samanco Grounds, where the team will be aiming to continue its push for promotion.

Coach Simon Masilela said the friendly matches served their purpose as the team fine-tuned its preparations.

“The friendlies helped us assess the squad and prepare the players for the challenges ahead. We are looking forward to the SAB League matches this weekend, and we believe the team is ready to compete.”

Masilela also called on the community to get behind the team.

“We would greatly appreciate the support of our community during the SAB League. The players have worked incredibly hard to reach this stage, and having our supporters in the stands will give them the motivation they need. We invite everyone to come and support Savanna Football Academy this weekend.”

With preparations complete, Savanna Football Academy will be hoping to make a strong start as they continue their quest for promotion.
