De Deur SAPS arrest 11 undocumented individuals in crime crackdown

On Monday, 3 March, De Deur SAPS conducted a high-density crime prevention operation that led to the arrest of 11 undocumented individuals and the issuing of multiple traffic fines.

The coordinated operation formed part of ongoing efforts to intensify visible policing and clamp down on crime across the Sedibeng District. Police were joined by the Midvaal Traffic Department and Siyabangena Patrollers in a decisive intervention aimed at strengthening safety and security in the area.

In a statement, De Deur SAPS highlighted that the high-density operation significantly amplified police visibility, sending a strong message that lawlessness would not be tolerated.

“We remain resolute in our mission to safeguard the community and their properties. Operations of this nature are designed to take the fight directly to criminals and restore confidence in our policing efforts,” De Deur SAPS said.

According to the statement, those arrested include six Malawian nationals, three Mozambican nationals, one Zimbabwean national and one Lesotho national. The individuals will be processed in accordance with immigration laws.

In addition to the arrests, law enforcement officials addressed 14 traffic infringements, issuing fines amounting to R10 100.

De Deur SAPS emphasised that the operation forms part of a broader district strategy to eradicate crime and maintain order.

“This initiative is one of many interventions aimed at ensuring that Sedibeng remains an inhospitable terrain for criminal activities. Through collaboration with our law enforcement partners, we are strengthening our footprint and reinforcing stability in our communities,” SAPS concluded.
