New Usave Store opens in Sicelo, boosting local economy and youth employment
A new Usave store officially opened its doors today in Sicelo, marking a major boost for local economic growth and job creation.
Midvaal Excutive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira attended the launch and welcomed the development, describing it as a key milestone in efforts to bring investment into local communities.
“When I took office in 2021, part of my vision was to attract investment, bring in businesses, and grow our local economy,” the mayor said.
The newly opened store represents fresh investment in Sicelo and has created employment opportunities for young people from the area, a move seen as vital in addressing youth unemployment.
He added: “This new store not only signifies new investment in the area, but I am also happy that those employed in the store are young people from Sicelo.”
Residents have been encouraged to support the business to ensure its long-term success and sustainability.
“Let us support this business and ensure it continues to grow and thrive,” the mayor urged.
The opening of the Usave store highlights growing investor confidence in Sicelo and reflects ongoing efforts to build a stronger, more inclusive local economy.
